She was shot on 3 September, in Evander, Mpumalanga. She was rushed to the Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria where she was in a critical condition. Mdeliswa died on 5 September morning.[4]

Shooting incident

[7] Siyabonga Mbatha then took a firearm from one of the men, shot Mdeliswa in the neck, and fled the scene. [4] She was rushed to Evander Hospital immediately after the shooting, where she was stabilized before being airlifted to Witbank and then transferred to Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria for further treatment. Murder trial and sentencing
