My "King" Library: Stephen King in My Life

My collection

I’ve been reading Stephen King since my school days, and over the years, he’s become more than just a horror author to me—he’s a true "master of stories." Currently, I have 25 physical books in my collection, and it's a little dream of mine to collect them all one day.

I read some of these as e-books, but I can't wait to have them all in hardcover on my shelf. Here is my "read list" with some quick thoughts:

  • The Dark Tower Series (All 8 books) My absolute favorite. It’s not just fantasy; it’s an entire universe that feels like home. Roland, you’ll be in my heart forever.

The Dark Tower Series (8 books)

Classics & Horror

  • The Shining / Doctor Sleep — Danny Torrance’s story is bone-chilling. Doctor Sleep is a very worthy sequel.

The Shining

Doctor Sleep

  • It — After this one, you’ll never look at clowns the same way. A massive and deeply moving story about friendship.

It

  • Misery — Probably the most intense psychological thriller ever. Every writer’s worst nightmare.

Misery

  • Pet Sematary — The saddest and creepiest book about how, sometimes, death is better.

Pet Sematary

  • Pet Sematary — The saddest and creepiest book about how, sometimes, death is better.

  • The Dead Zone — A tragic story about a gift that turns into a curse.

The Dead Zone

  • Cujo — A simple but incredibly tense standoff between a human and a rabid dog.

Cujo

  • Carrie — Where it all began. A story you just can't forget.

Drama & Sci-Fi

  • 11.22.63 — An incredible dive into the 60s atmosphere. The ending literally had me in tears.

  • The Green Mile / The Shawshank Redemption — Masterpieces that prove King is a genius of deep drama.

  • Under the Dome — A social experiment showing that people can be scarier than any supernatural force.

  • Revival — I still can’t get the ending of this book out of my head. Dark stuff.

Mystery & Thrillers

  • Rose Madder — A powerful story about escaping domestic violence with a touch of myth and mystery.

  • Needful Things — About what we’re willing to do for our desires. Pure chaos in a small town.

  • Dreamcatcher — A weird but catchy mix of friendship and alien invasion.

  • Mr. Mercedes — A great detective story that started my love for the Bill Hodges trilogy.

  • Insomnia / Duma Key — Both are super atmospheric and hard to put down.

Collections & Novellas

  • Four Past Midnight / The Langoliers — The Langoliers is what sparked my obsession with King’s shorter fiction.

  • Just After Sunset / If It Bleeds — Great collections where every story hits the mark.

What’s next? My goal is to fill my entire bookshelf with King’s work. If you’re a fan of "Uncle Stevie" too, let me know in the comments which book got you started!
