The 5th Critics' Choice Real TV Awards , presented by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association and NPACT, which recognizes excellence in nonfiction, unscripted and reality programming across broadcast, cable and streaming platforms, were held on June 15, 2023.[ 1] The ceremony was not held in-person due to the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike , instead a television special saluting the winners was aired the day after on KTLA .[ 2]
The nominations were announced on May 15, 2023, with RuPaul's Drag Race leading with five.[ 3]
