Tennessee Titans

Breeze was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the sixth round, 215th overall, of the 2021 NFL draft.[3] He signed his four-year rookie contract with Tennessee on May 17, 2021.[4] He was placed on injured reserve on September 3, 2021. He was activated on October 19, 2021.[5] He was waived on December 11, 2021.[6]

Detroit Lions

On December 13, 2021, Breeze was claimed off waivers by the Detroit Lions.[7] He was waived on August 16, 2022.[8] He was re-signed to the practice squad on November 1, 2022.[9] He signed a reserve/future contract on January 9, 2023.

On August 29, 2023, Breeze was waived by the Lions.[10]

Seattle Seahawks

On September 4, 2023, Breeze was signed to the Seattle Seahawks practice squad, then released eight days later.[11]

Houston Texans

On November 7, 2023, Breeze was signed to the Houston Texans practice squad.[12] He was not signed to a reserve/future contract after the season and thus became a free agent when his practice squad contract expired.[13]

Cleveland Browns

On June 5, 2024, Breeze was signed to the Cleveland Browns.[14] He was waived on August 16.[15]

Arlington Renegades

On January 30, 2025, Breeze signed with the Arlington Renegades of the United Football League (UFL).[16] He was released on March 20, 2025.[17]

Calgary Stampeders

Personal life

He is the nephew of former Oregon Ducks safety Chad Cota, and cousin of Oregon Ducks wide receiver Chase Cota.[19][20]

Family background

Brady Breeze was born on October 9, 1997, in Medford, Oregon.[11] He grew up in the Lake Oswego area, where his family provided a strong foundation in football from an early age. Breeze is the nephew of Chad Cota, a former standout safety for the Oregon Ducks who earned MVP honors in the 1995 Rose Bowl (representing the 1994 season) after recording nine tackles and an interception in Oregon's victory over Penn State.[12][13] Breeze is also the cousin of Chase Cota, a wide receiver who played for the Oregon Ducks from 2018 to 2021 before entering the NFL. This familial connection to Oregon football created an enduring legacy that influenced Breeze's initial passion for the sport, immersing him in stories of Duck triumphs and the expectations of excellence long before he stepped onto the field himself.[14][15]

High school career

Brady Breeze attended Central Catholic High School in Portland, Oregon, where he emerged as a standout defensive back after transferring from South Medford High School as a sophomore.[3] Playing primarily as a safety, Breeze quickly adapted to the Rams' defense, contributing to a strong team performance in the Mt. Hood Conference. His athletic versatility allowed him to see action on both sides of the ball, showcasing speed and tackling ability that drew early college interest.[16] As a junior in 2014, Breeze recorded 42 tackles and three interceptions on defense while scoring six touchdowns offensively, averaging 56.2 all-purpose yards per game.[16] His performance earned him co-Mt. Hood Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors alongside David Douglas' Osa Odighizuwa, as well as first-team all-state recognition as a defensive back.[17] The following year, as a senior in 2015, Breeze repeated as Mt. Oregon Ducks

Brady Breeze enrolled at the University of Oregon in 2016 after being recruited from Central Catholic High School in Portland, Oregon.[20] As a true freshman, he redshirted the season, preserving a year of eligibility while adjusting to college football.[4] Breeze saw limited action during his first two active seasons. In 2017, as a redshirt freshman, he appeared in 11 games primarily on special teams, recording 23 total tackles and one interception.[4] His role remained modest in 2018 as a sophomore, playing in 13 games with just nine tackles and no interceptions, continuing to contribute mainly in special teams and rotational defensive duties.[4] Breeze's involvement expanded significantly in 2019 as a junior, when he transitioned to a starting safety role late in the season. He played in all 14 games, including the postseason, amassing 62 tackles, two interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), one forced fumble, and four fumble recoveries (two for touchdowns).[4] Entering the 2020 season as an anticipated starter, Breeze opted out in October due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, forgoing regular-season play but concluding his college career after the prior postseason. Tennessee Titans

Breeze was selected by the Tennessee Titans in the sixth round, 215th overall, of the 2021 NFL Draft after a notable college career at the University of Oregon.[27][28] He signed a four-year rookie contract worth $3,631,176, including a $151,176 signing bonus, on May 13, 2021.[29] In the 2021 season, Breeze appeared in five games for the Titans, logging 62 special teams snaps but no defensive statistics or tackles.[30] The Titans waived Breeze on December 11, 2021, to make room for other roster activations.[31]

Detroit Lions

On December 13, 2021, the Detroit Lions claimed safety Brady Breeze off waivers from the Tennessee Titans, adding depth to their secondary late in his rookie season.[32][33] Breeze was waived by the Lions on August 16, 2022, with an injury designation during training camp roster reductions.[34][35] The team re-signed him to the practice squad on November 1, 2022, where he contributed as a depth player and special teams asset.[36][37] During the 2022 season, Breeze appeared in two games for the Lions, logging 40 special teams snaps without recording any statistics, primarily serving in a rotational role on coverage units.[38] Breeze's tenure with the Lions concluded when he was waived again on August 29, 2023, as part of final preseason roster cuts.[39]

Seattle Seahawks

Following his release from the Detroit Lions' practice squad, Brady Breeze signed with the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad on September 4, 2023.[40][41] His tenure with the team was brief, lasting just one week.[42] Breeze was released by the Seahawks on September 12, 2023, to make room for new additions to the practice squad, including veteran offensive tackle Jason Peters.[42][43] During his short time with Seattle, he did not appear in any games or record any statistics.[29]

Houston Texans

On November 7, 2023, Breeze signed with the Houston Texans' practice squad as a defensive back, continuing his path through multiple NFL teams that season.[44][29] He remained on the practice squad for the remainder of the 2023 regular season without being elevated to the active roster for any games.[45][1] Following the conclusion of the season, Breeze's practice squad contract expired, making him an unrestricted free agent in early 2024.[29] During his time with the Texans, Breeze did not record any statistics.

Cleveland Browns

Following his release from the Houston Texans' practice squad at the conclusion of the 2023 season, safety Brady Breeze signed with the Cleveland Browns on June 5, 2024.[46] The signing came after Breeze had impressed during a tryout at the Browns' rookie minicamp earlier that spring.[47] Breeze participated in the Browns' training camp and preseason preparations, including joint practices where he showed promise in the secondary.[48] He appeared in the team's preseason opener against the Green Bay Packers on August 10, 2024, recording a game-high 11 tackles and the Browns' only sack of the contest.[49] However, Breeze was waived by the Browns on August 16, 2024, with an injury designation after suffering an undisclosed injury.[50] He did not appear in any regular-season games for the team and recorded no statistics during the 2024 NFL season.[51]

Arlington Renegades

Following his release from the Cleveland Browns in August 2024, safety Brady Breeze signed with the Arlington Renegades of the United Football League (UFL) on January 30, 2025.[7][52] The UFL, formed by the 2024 merger of the USFL and XFL, serves as a prominent spring professional football league, providing opportunities for players seeking to continue their careers outside the NFL's fall schedule.[7] Breeze joined the Renegades during their offseason preparations for the 2025 season, aiming to bolster the team's secondary.[52] However, he was placed on waivers and released on March 20, 2025, prior to the start of training camp and the regular season.[10][53] As a result of the preseason release, Breeze did not appear in any games for the Renegades and recorded no statistics during his brief tenure with the team.[15][10]

Calgary Stampeders

Following his release from the Arlington Renegades of the United Football League in March 2025, Brady Breeze signed with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL) on August 17, 2025, joining their practice roster as a defensive back.[11][8] At 6 feet tall and 204 pounds, Breeze, a 27-year-old American from Medford, Oregon, brought his experience as a safety to the team, marking his transition to professional football in Canada after multiple NFL stints.[2] Breeze appeared in four regular-season games for the Stampeders in 2025, including consecutive games in October, where he contributed primarily on special teams, blocking two punts, including a notable block against the Edmonton Elks on October 24 that provided the Stampeders with favorable field position.[54] In those games, he recorded five defensive tackles and two special teams tackles, with no interceptions or sacks, demonstrating his utility in a depth role.[2] Breeze did not play in the Stampeders' West Semi-Final loss to the BC Lions on November 1, 2025, ending their playoff run, after being placed on the one-game injured list due to an undisclosed injury. As of November 16, 2025, he remains with the team.[55]
