"Orange County Suite" is a song by the American rock band The Doors that first officially appeared on their 1997 boxed set The Doors: Box Set.
"Orange County Suite" was written during one of Jim Morrison's poetry sessions in February 1969.[1] It was written about Morrison's wife Pamela Courson.[2]
Jim Morrison recorded the song as a piano demo in 1971,[3] but it was never released until 1997 when the surviving members of the band overdubbed more instruments for release on The Doors: Box Set.[4]
"Orange County Suite" was originally intended to be released on L.A. Woman, but John Densmore, Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek rejected it from being put on the album due to it being "a total bummer".[5] It has also been included on the box sets Perception[6] and The Complete Studio Recordings.[7]
