Robert Eric Irwin, also known as Bob Irwin, was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. This date marks the beginning of the life of a prominent Australian naturalist, animal conservationist, former zookeeper, and herpetologist, known for his work with apex predators and reptiles and the founder of the Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park, later known as Australia Zoo. He is also the father of the late Steve Irwin.
