The Brittany Murphy Foundation, a charitable fund for children's arts education as well as supporting the USO and cancer research, was launched at a fundraising event at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills. The foundation was established by Murphy's mother, Sharon Murphy, and her widower, Simon Monjack, in memory of the late actress. This date represents an effort to honor Murphy's legacy and support causes she would have been passionate about.
