Coco Gauff won the 2024 WTA Finals singles champion, becoming the youngest player to win the WTA Finals since Maria Sharapova in 2004 and the first American to win the finals since Serena Williams in 2014. She beat Iga Swiatek, Sabalenka and Zheng Qinwen.

Maria Sharapova became the youngest player to win a title since 2004 by winning the 2004 Birmingham Classic. Coco Gauff in 2019 at age of 15 became the youngest WTA player to win a singles title since 2004.
