Conor Anthony McGregor was born to parents Tony and Margaret McGregor in Dublin, Ireland. He was raised in the rough working-class section of Crumlin, where he developed a passion for sports, particularly soccer and boxing.

McGregor moved with his family to Lucan, Dublin, and began training in mixed martial arts (MMA) with future UFC fighter Tom Egan. This marked the beginning of his journey in MMA.

McGregor made his professional MMA debut for the London-based promotion Cage Warriors, winning by TKO. This was the start of his professional MMA career.
