Key Information

History

[edit]

Since 1997, FN Browning Group has been 100% owned by the Walloon Region of Belgium, who purchased the remaining shares from GIAT.[2]

On 15 June 2024, Herstal Group changed its name to FN Browning Group.[5]

FN Browning Group was interested in January 2025 to purchase Sofisport, which "employs a total of 1,000 people at fifteen active sites in France, Italy, Spain, the UK and Canada. Its subsidiaries, including Nobel Sport, Cheddite and Sofiam, specialize in the manufacture of ammunition and the production of components including powders, shotshell cases and primers."[6] At the time, the FN Browning Group employed over 3,000 people and had "seven production sites in Belgium, Portugal, Finland, the United States and the United Kingdom".[6][7]
