Jonathan Michael Majors was born in Lompoc, California, to Terri (née Anderson) and Winfred Majors.

Majors spent his early years on the Vandenberg Air Force Base in Santa Barbara County, California, where his father was stationed.

The family eventually relocated to Texas, where Majors claimed his father 'just kind of disappeared one day' and did not reappear for 17 years.

Majors graduated from Duncanville High School.

Majors earned a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.

Majors earned an M.F.A. from the Yale School of Drama.
