Marc Andreessen did not seek reelection at the 2018 Annual Meeting of Stockholders for Hewlett Packard Enterprise. His time on the board was marked by some criticism regarding certain company decisions.

An investor group including Andreessen Horowitz acquired a majority stake in Skype at a valuation of $2.75 billion. This was considered a risky investment at the time but proved highly successful when Microsoft bought Skype for $8.5 billion in May 2011.
