"Non sono una signora" (i.e. "I am not a lady") is a 1982 Italian pop-rock song written by Ivano Fossati and performed by Loredana Bertè. Considered Bertè's signature song, it has influenced her provocative imagine and aggressive style in the following years of career.[1] It has been described as one of Bertè's signature songs.[2]
Commissioned to Fossati by his then-partner, Bertè's sister Mia Martini,[3][4] the song won the 1982 edition of Festivalbar.[5] It was adapted in Spanish language as "Ella es una señora" (in a version performed by Lucía Méndez) and as "No soy una señora" (in a version performed by Melissa Griffiths, and later by María José).
