History

[edit]

Sejong SA FC was founded on 7 January 2025 and began recruiting players to compete in the 2025 K4 League.[1]

Inaugural Season

[edit]

They made their league debut on 22 February 2025 in an away match against Namyangju Citizen, which they lost 2–1.[2] They played their first home match the following week against Daegu FC B, resulting in a 1-3 loss.[3] They struggles to get off the mark and after the first 5 matches, their only point came from a draw against fellow strugglers, Seoul Jungnang FC. Sejong SA FC would have to wait until their 10th match to earn their first league victory, doing so against title contenders Geojae Citizen FC.[4]

Their fortunes in the Korea Cup were much better. In Round 1 they earned their first ever home victory by defeating K3 League's Ulsan Citizen FC 3-0, [5] and in Round 2 they defeated K League 2's Jeonnam Dragons FC 3-1. [6] In Round 3 they narrowly lost 0-1 at home to K League 1's FC Anyang. [7]
