Sophie Belinda Turner was born in Northampton, England, to Sally, a nursery school teacher, and Andrew, who worked for a pallet distribution company. She later moved to Chesterton, Warwickshire.

Sophie grew up in a large house near Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. She had two older brothers, James and Will. She described her childhood as happy, spending much time playing in the woods with her friends.

Sophie attended Warwick Prep School, a private school for girls. It's likely here that she received her early formal education, which would have included primary level subjects and introductory creative arts.

Sophie continued her education at The King's High School for Girls, also in Warwick. She participated in drama and theatre productions, nurturing her early interest in performing arts and acting.

A pivotal moment in Sophie's life was joining the Playbox Theatre Company at the age of three. This renowned youth theatre group provided her with professional training and opportunities to hone her acting skills. This would eventually lead to auditions for professional roles.

Sophie completed her GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) examinations, achieving respectable grades while simultaneously balancing her burgeoning acting career. She successfully passed five GCSEs, showing dedication to her studies even with her busy filming schedule.
