After a coup at Apple that stripped Jobs of executive responsibility, he founded NeXT with some other individuals from Apple.
Pixar
January 30, 1986
Jobs purchased the computer animation division of George Lucas' ILM and incorporated it as Pixar.
Pixar Signs with Disney
May 1991
Pixar signed a deal with Disney to produce a feature-length film, which later became Toy Story.
