Thresholds is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1959 serving persons with mental illnesses and substance abuse problems in Illinois.[1] Thresholds is the largest community-based mental healthcare provider in Illinois,[2] providing services to more than 7,000 people every year.[3]
Thresholds has over 1,000 employees offering support programs in Chicago, its suburbs, and nine surrounding counties,[4][5] and its main office is in Ravenswood, Chicago. As of 2023, the organization has been named among the Chicago Tribune Top Workplaces for 10 consecutive years.[6][7][8] In 2025 Thresholds was ranked among the Top Workplaces USA following a national survey co-sponsored by Energage and USA TODAY.[9]
