Rooney played for Everton FC, scoring 15 goals in 67 appearances and earning the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award in 2002.

Rooney transferred to Manchester United FC, becoming one of the club's top scorers with 183 goals in 393 appearances and winning numerous titles including the Premier League, FA Cup, UEFA Champions League, and FIFA Club World Cup.

Rooney returned to Everton FC on a two-year contract, scoring 10 goals in 28 appearances.
