As Governor of California, Arnold championed environmental causes, including the passage of Executive Order S-3-05 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. He continues to advocate for climate action through the R20 Regions of Climate Action and the Schwarzenegger Institute for State and Global Policy.

Arnold has supported various charitable organizations, including the After-School All-Stars and the Special Olympics. He has also been involved in disaster relief efforts and children's health initiatives.
