8D Entertainment (Korean: 에잇디크리에이티브) is a privately held entertainment and service group based in Seoul. It previously managed the group OnlyOneOf.
Key Information
History
[edit]The company was formed by Kim Shin-ae on March 23, 2017, as a food and beverage service company, operating the "8D Seoul Cafe" in Dosan Park Gangnam. Prior to founding 8D Creative, Kim had experience in founding the bakery goodovening (굿오브닝; later sold to a Japanese company) and the pizza chain Mick Jones's Pizza (믹존스 피자). The name "8D" is based on the :D (happy face) emoticon, which symbolizes both her experiences as a businesswoman and divorced single mom, as well as her mission to create a "funky" workplace.[3]
8D Creative was later sold to ESV (now Kyungnam Pharm Healthcare), with Kim Shin-ae staying as president and CEO. The acquisition propelled the company's diversification to other industries including music and entertainment.[4]
In the first half of 2018, 8D Creative trainee Kang Hye-won was sent to participate in the survival girl group television show Produce 48.[5] She finished eighth and debuted as part of Iz*One.[6]
On June 15, 2018, actor Kam Woo-sung signed the exclusive contract with 8D.[7] On October 10, actress Yoo In-young also joined the company.[8]
On April 30, 2019, 8D Creative established two new subsidiaries, an actor-specialized management WIP and an idol-specialized label RSVP.[9]
On November 12, 2020, RSVP was renamed as 8D Entertainment and 8D Creative was integrated into the company. Kim Shin-ae became the executive director of the company, with Park Jin-hyoung replacing her as president and CEO.[10]

Founding and Early Development
8D Creative was founded on March 24, 2017, by Kim Shin-ae as a food and beverage company headquartered in Seoul, South Korea.[8][9] At its inception, the company had no involvement in entertainment, concentrating instead on the F&B sector through consulting, brand development, and direct operations.[10] The core of early operations revolved around cafe management, with the launch of 8D Seoul Cafe in the Dosan Park neighborhood, offering specialty milk teas and desserts inspired by international flavors.[10][11] This venue, along with other outlets like 8D City Cafe in Gangnam and Samseong-dong, represented the company's initial push into experiential dining spaces aimed at urban consumers.[10][12] By 2018, 8D Creative encountered financial and operational challenges typical of startup F&B ventures in a saturated market, prompting a strategic search for acquisition partners to ensure sustainability and expansion.[13] This effort culminated in its subsequent acquisition by Kyungnam Pharm Healthcare.Acquisition and Expansion into Entertainment
In 2018, 8D Creative was acquired by ESV, which later rebranded as Kyungnam Pharm Healthcare, transitioning the company into the entertainment sector while maintaining its foundational food and beverage operations.[3] This ownership change provided the financial and structural support needed to expand beyond its origins as a cafe business. The acquisition spurred early entertainment efforts, including active talent scouting—such as sending trainees to survival programs—and laying the groundwork for label activities centered on K-pop, R&B, and EDM genres.[3] By late 2018, these initiatives positioned 8D Creative for its debut projects in the music industry.Reorganization and Recent Developments
In April 2019, 8D Creative underwent a significant structural reorganization by establishing two specialized sub-labels to streamline its operations across different entertainment sectors. WIP was created as an actor management division focused on talent representation in film and television, while RSVP was launched as an idol and music artist label dedicated to developing and promoting performers in the K-pop industry.[14] This division of labor aimed to enhance efficiency and targeted growth within the company's portfolio. Later that year, RSVP debuted its first major act, marking the sub-label's entry into the competitive music market. The establishment of these entities represented 8D Creative's strategic pivot toward diversified management, allowing for more focused resources on acting versus music careers.[14] In December 2019, 8D Creative faced allegations of providing bribes worth approximately 30 million KRW (about $26,000 USD) to Produce 101 series chief producer Ahn Joon-young to manipulate votes in favor of its trainee in Produce 48. The company issued a statement denying any involvement in vote-rigging. While Ahn was later convicted of bribery and vote manipulation in 2020, no charges were brought against 8D Creative.[6][15][16] On November 12, 2020, further consolidation occurred when 8D Creative announced the rebranding of RSVP to 8D Entertainment, accompanied by the full integration of the parent company into this new entity. This move unified operations under a single banner, with 8D Entertainment absorbing all assets, artists, and functions from 8D Creative to streamline administration and foster a cohesive entertainment platform. The announcement emphasized a "new journey" for the company, signaling ambitions for expanded music and talent initiatives, including potential subscription-based projects. Kim Shin-ae was appointed as executive director to oversee the transitioned structure. Following this integration, 8D Creative ceased independent operations.[17][8]Corporate Structure
Ownership and Operations
Following its 2020 reorganization, 8D Entertainment (the integrated entity of 8D Creative) maintains its headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea, serving as the central hub for its entertainment-focused operations. The company's address is 8F, 441 Teheran-ro (as of 2024), where administrative and creative activities are coordinated.[18] This location underscores its integration into the vibrant K-pop and entertainment ecosystem of Seoul.[19] The ownership structure of 8D Creative has been under Kyungnam Pharm Healthcare since its acquisition in 2018 by the pharmaceutical firm, previously known as ESV.[20] This parent company provides financial backing while allowing the entertainment division to operate semi-autonomously. Founder Kim Shin-ae, who established the company in 2017, initially served as president and CEO post-acquisition but was later succeeded by Park Jin-hyoung in the executive role.[20][14] Park continues to lead as the CEO as of 2025, overseeing strategic decisions. In terms of operations, 8D Entertainment specializes in talent scouting, music production, and distribution, extending to artist management in acting and performance.[3] The company had approximately 30 employees as of 2020.[8] Daily functioning involves coordinating promotions, recordings, and partnerships within the entertainment industry, prioritizing innovative approaches to global outreach.[19]Subsidiaries and Divisions
On April 30, 2019, 8D Creative established the WIP division as a specialized unit for actor management within its corporate structure.[3] This division handled prominent talents, including actors Kam Woo-sung and Yoo In-young, both of whom later departed the agency for other representations.[21][22] Simultaneously, 8D Creative launched RSVP as its dedicated label for idol and music-related activities, focusing on K-pop and similar genres.[17] In November 2020, RSVP was renamed 8D Entertainment, serving as the primary music imprint for the company's entertainment ventures.[17] As part of a broader reorganization, 8D Creative's operations were integrated into 8D Entertainment in late 2020 to streamline management and consolidate resources across divisions.[17] This merger unified the oversight of both actor and music sectors under 8D Entertainment, which continues to operate as of 2025.[23]Talent Management
Current Artists
As of November 2025, 8D Creative maintains no active artists on its roster.[19]Former Artists
The agency's former talents include the boy group OnlyOneOf, which debuted in May 2019 under its sub-label 8D Entertainment (formerly RSVP) as a seven-member group but continued as six members after Love's departure in August 2021. Comprising members KB (leader and main vocalist), Rie (main dancer and sub-vocalist), YooJung (lead dancer and sub-vocalist), JunJi (lead vocalist), Mill (main rapper and sub-vocalist), and Nine (lead rapper and maknae), the group was renowned for pioneering an experimental strain of K-pop that blended sensual aesthetics, narrative-driven concepts, and genre-fusing sounds in releases through 2023. It built a dedicated fanbase through innovative storytelling in albums like OnlyOneOf (2021) and Golden Age (2022), emphasizing psychological themes and fluid gender expressions in performances. On October 31, 2025, 8D Entertainment announced the expiration of all members' exclusive contracts without renewal, effectively ending OnlyOneOf's group activities and affiliation with the label while allowing individual pursuits.[24][23][25][26] Soloist Choi HEART debuted under 8D Entertainment in 2022 and specialized in sultry R&B-infused EDM tracks that showcased her husky vocals and self-composed elements, drawing acclaim for blending retro synth-pop with modern electronic production. Key milestones include her debut single "Elastic Love," which amassed over 1.1 million music video views within months and highlighted her songwriter credentials, as well as follow-up releases like "Million" (2022) and "5min to heartbreak" (2023), the latter earning praise for its emotional depth in heartbreak narratives. She also contributed composition to Haseul of LOONA/ARTMS's track "Obsess," underscoring her growing influence in K-pop songwriting. Choi HEART's contract expired in 2024, leading to her independent activities thereafter.[27][28][29] IZ*ONE member Kang Hye-won joined 8D Creative as a trainee in 2018 and transitioned to solo activities following the group's disbandment in April 2021. She remained under the agency's management for her acting and music endeavors until April 2025, when her contract expired amicably after seven years. Hye-won subsequently signed an exclusive contract with PEACE Entertainment on April 29, 2025, to focus on her acting career, reviewing offers for upcoming projects.[30][31][32] Actor Kam Woo-sung signed an exclusive contract with 8D Creative on June 15, 2018, bolstering the agency's WIP sub-label for actors. His tenure, spanning from 2018 to early 2024, included high-profile roles that earned him recognition, such as the Grand Prize (Daesang) at the 2018 SBS Drama Awards for Should We Kiss First?. In February 2024, Woo-sung departed to join Neos Entertainment, allowing him to pursue diverse projects with a new management team.[21] Actress Yoo In-young aligned with 8D Creative's WIP division in October 2018. She was managed by the agency through the early 2020s, contributing to various dramas and films during this period. In 2024, In-young left 8D Creative to sign with YK Media Plus, where she continues her career in television and cinema.[1][33] Other former musical talents include singer Kang Ye-seul (2019–2021) and singer Ko Sung-min (2018–2021), who were briefly managed before departing for independent endeavors.[19]Discography

The fifth mini-album, seOul cOllectiOn, launched on March 2, 2023, captured urban Seoul vibes through songs like "hOwLiNg," peaking at number 3 on the Circle Album Chart and selling 47,852 copies, underscoring the group's rising commercial traction.
