Amy Griffin (author)
Amy Griffin is an American venture capitalist and author who founded G9 Ventures. Her 2025 memoir The Tell was an Oprah Book Club pick in March 2025 and became a New York Times bestseller later that month. In September 2025, some concerns came to light about the veracity of the claims Griffin made in her book.
Griffin was born and grew up in Texas. Her father was CEO of Toot'n Totum, a Texas-based chain of convenience and auto-service stores. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia.
In her twenties, she worked in marketing and promotions at Sports Illustrated magazine. At 27, she married John Griffin, founder of hedge fund Blue Ridge Capital, on May 3, 2003.
In 2021, she became a trustee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
