Andre Terrell Jackson Jr. (born November 13, 2001) is an American professional basketball player who serves as a shooting guard for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA).[1] Standing at 6 feet 6 inches (1.98 m) and weighing 209 pounds (95 kg), Jackson is known for his athleticism, defensive versatility, and ability to contribute as a perimeter defender and transition player.[2] A native of Amsterdam, New York, he rose through the ranks of amateur basketball to become a key contributor in college before entering the NBA.[3]
Jackson attended the Albany Academy in Albany, New York, where he played basketball for four years under coach Brian Fruscio.[4] As a senior in the 2019–20 season, he averaged 18.8 points, 10.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 3.0 steals per game, shooting 68.0% from the field and 45.0% from three-point range, earning him recognition as a top-50 national recruit.[4] His high school performance highlighted his potential as a multi-faceted guard with strong rebounding instincts for his position.
At the University of Connecticut (UConn) from 2020 to 2023, Jackson evolved into a defensive specialist and team facilitator.[5] Over three seasons, he appeared in 85 games, starting 65, and averaged 5.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game while shooting 42.9% from the field.[5] In his junior year (2022–23), he started all 37 games, contributing to UConn's dominant run to the NCAA Division I men's basketball championship, where the Huskies won all six tournament games by at least 16 points; Jackson averaged 9.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in the postseason.[6] Named a team captain that season—the first by coach Dan Hurley in his 22 years of head coaching—Jackson's energy and leadership were pivotal to the program's fifth national title.[6]
Selected by the Orlando Magic with the 36th overall pick in the second round of the 2023 NBA draft, Jackson's rights were immediately traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for future draft considerations.[7] He signed a multi-year contract with the Bucks shortly after and made his NBA debut on October 28, 2023.[3] In his rookie season (2023–24), Jackson split time between the Bucks and their G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd, averaging 4.9 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 42 NBA games (nine starts).[1] During the 2024–25 season, he appeared in 67 games (43 starts), posting averages of 3.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 0.5 steals in 14.6 minutes per game, showcasing improved defensive impact with 0.9 steals per 36 minutes.[3] In the 2025–26 season, Jackson has continued his development as a rotational player for the Bucks and competed in the 2025 NBA Slam Dunk Contest.[1][8]
