Ansel Easton Adams was born in San Francisco, California.

At the age of 14, Adams received his first camera, a Kodak No. 1 Box Camera, during his first visit to Yosemite National Park, which sparked his lifelong passion for photography and the natural world.

Adams published his first photographic portfolio, "Parmelian Prints of the High Sierras", marking the beginning of his professional career in photography.
