Bolotana (Sardinian: Golòthene) is a town and comune (municipality) in the Province of Nuoro in the autonomous island region of Sardinia in Italy, located about 120 kilometres (75 mi) north of Cagliari and about 30 kilometres (19 mi) west of Nuoro. It has 2,244 inhabitants.

Bolotana borders the municipalities of Bonorva, Bortigali, Illorai, Lei, Macomer, Noragugume, Orani, Ottana, and Silanus.

As of 2026, the population is 2,244, of which 46.4% are male, and 53.6% are female. Minors make up 9.4% of the population, and seniors make up 34.9%.

As of 2025, of the known countries of birth of 2,265 residents, the most numerous are: Italy (2,140 – 94.5%), Morocco (36 – 1.6%), Germany (29 – 1.3%), France (15 – 0.7%), Belgium (15 – 0.7%).
