Fuller served as a visiting critic at Black Mountain College, an experimental arts school in North Carolina. He collaborated with artists and students on innovative design projects.

Fuller held a position as a research professor at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he explored his ideas on design science and global problem-solving. He also developed the World Game workshop, aimed at simulating global resource management.

Fuller served as a World Fellow in Residence at the University of Pennsylvania, continuing his research and teaching activities.
