Darwin Núñez

Núñez was born into an impoverished family and had to overcome significant challenges to pursue his football career.

Núñez moved to Montevideo to join Peñarol's youth academy, leaving his family behind.

Núñez's older brother Junior quit football to provide for the family while Núñez was recovering from his cruciate ligament injury.
