He joined Bayern Munich II and won promotion to the Regionalliga Bayern in 2014.

Ten Hag became head coach and sporting director at Utrecht, leading the team to Europa League qualification.

He joined Ajax and won three Eredivisie titles, two KNVB Cups, and led the team to the semi-finals of the 2018–19 UEFA Champions League.

Ten Hag was appointed as the manager of Manchester United, winning the EFL Cup and FA Cup in successive seasons before being dismissed in 2024.
