''Fina Strazza'' is an American actress known for her work in Broadway theater and television. She made her Broadway debut in the title role of Matilda the Musical. She later gained wider recognition for her leading role as KJ Brandman in the Prime Video series Paper Girls (2022). In 2025, she received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her performance as Beth Powell in John Proctor Is the Villain at the Booth Theatre. Born on November 3, 2005, in New York City, Strazza began her career as a child performer in theater and appeared in early film and television projects, including A Christmas Melody (2015) and guest roles on series such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She has continued to build a versatile career across stage and screen while studying at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Her work spans regional theater credits like Snow Child at Arena Stage and upcoming screen projects including Fear Street: Prom Queen (2025). Strazza's performances have highlighted her range from child roles to more mature dramatic parts, earning her recognition as a rising talent in American entertainment.

Early life

Birth and background

Fina Strazza was born on November 3, 2005, in New York City, New York, USA. She is the daughter of Rana Strazza, a producer and director who owned a theater company during her childhood, and her father, who works in software. She has an older sister named Nixie.

Childhood and early interests

Fina Strazza was raised in New York City, spending her early childhood in the Tudor City apartment complex on Manhattan's East Side before her family relocated to the West Village around the time she began school. Her mother, Rana Strazza, owned a theater company during this period, which provided her with immediate and immersive exposure to the performing arts. Strazza began acting at age four, with her first stage experience playing Sandy the dog in a production of Annie staged by her mother's company. She has described her parents as exceptionally supportive throughout her childhood, particularly highlighting her mother's role as a talented artist who established an in-house conservatory-like environment. This setup offered her technical training in performance from a very young age, often in ways she did not fully recognize as formal instruction at the time. Strazza attended a public STEM-focused school in New York City from kindergarten through twelfth grade, intentionally opting against a performing arts-focused education to preserve a clear separation between her academic life and her growing interest in theater. She has emphasized that observing everyday behavior among peers her age proved more valuable to her development as an actor than structured lessons, and she grew up with an early awareness of Broadway that fueled her excitement for the art form. No more details are available from reliable sources on ethnic background or further family history.

Career

Stage career

Fina Strazza made her Broadway debut in Matilda the Musical, assuming the title role as a replacement at the Shubert Theatre. She joined the production in 2014 at the age of eight, becoming the youngest actress to portray the character on Broadway. Following an extended break from the stage to focus on screen projects, Strazza returned to Broadway in the original production of John Proctor is the Villain by Kimberly Belflower. She originated the role of Beth Powell, a tight-laced but fiercely feminist high school student who leads a newly formed feminist club amid a class debate on The Crucible. The coming-of-age play opened at the Booth Theatre on April 14, 2025, and concluded its run on September 7, 2025. Her performance as Beth Powell earned widespread recognition, including a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play at the 2025 Tony Awards. Strazza was the youngest Tony nominee of 2025.

Television work

Fina Strazza has made several guest and recurring appearances in television series since her debut on screen. She guest starred as Whitney in the "Valor" episode of the CBS political drama Madam Secretary in 2019. Between 2019 and 2020, she appeared in two episodes of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as Milly Bucci. In 2022, she portrayed KJ Brandman in eight episodes of the Amazon Prime Video science fiction series Paper Girls. She guest starred as Jessie Davis in one episode of FBI: Most Wanted in 2024. Strazza is set to star as Patty in the upcoming Peacock comedy series Dig, which is currently in pre-production.

Film work

Fina Strazza has appeared in several feature films, with her most prominent role to date coming in the horror genre. She portrayed Tiffany Falconer in Netflix's Fear Street: Prom Queen (2025), directed by Matt Palmer and adapted from R.L. Stine's novel. Tiffany is depicted as the queen bee of Shadyside High in 1988, a feisty and determined frontrunner in the prom queen competition who leads a group of friends with a cruel edge and features in major dance sequences. Strazza described being drawn to the part because it allowed her to play a mean character for the first time, contrasting her prior roles that were more anxious or morally grounded, and noted how the elaborate costuming, including a sequined prom dress, helped her embody the character's larger-than-life confidence. Earlier in her screen career, Strazza appeared in smaller independent features. She played Jez in the 2014 drama A Little Game and Young Holly in the 2019 fantasy film Above the Shadows. These roles marked her initial entries into film alongside her primary work in theater and television.
