Heinrich Rudolf Hertz died in Bonn, Germany, at the age of 36. He died due to
complications after surgery to treat an infection and was buried in the Ohlsdorf
Cemetery in Hamburg. His death marked the premature loss of a brilliant
physicist who had laid the groundwork for radio and modern telecommunications.
