Himalaya Television (Nepali: हिमालय टेलिभिजन), founded in 2010, is a nationwide private television company of Nepal.
Himalaya Television, commonly known as Himalaya TV, is a Nepali-language television network located at Baneshwor, Kathmandu, Nepal. A channel named after the mythical Himalayan mountain range, the channel aimed to go beyond normal broadcasting by covering social issues and capturing Nepal's cultural diversity. Established in 2010, the channel has become a significant player in Nepal's media landscape, offering a diverse range of programming that includes news, entertainment, and reality shows. Himalaya TV commenced its official broadcast on December 1, 2010. In 2018, the channel underwent a significant transformation when it was acquired by media entrepreneurs Dharmaraj Bhusal and Shyam Kandel. Bhusal is also the founder and editor-in-chief of the online news portal OnlineKhabar.com. In 2020 Mr. Govinda Dhakal was appointed as a General manager and looked after the Major Reality shows like The Voice of Nepal, Shark Thank Nepal, Himalaya Roadies, The Voice Kids, Dancing Starts Nepal, and so on. Following the acquisition, the channel was rebranded and relaunched in high definition on January 15, 2019.
Himalaya TV was bought by onlinekhabar.com, an online news portal of Nepal.
