Invincible VS is an upcoming fighting video game developed by Quarter Up and published by Skybound Games. It is based on the Amazon Prime Video animated series adaptation of the Image Comics series Invincible, with members of the show's voice cast reprising their roles. The game is set to be released on April 30, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X and S.

Gameplay

[edit]

Invincible VS is a fighting game based around teams of three characters, which players can tag between during battle.[3] Players will be able to perform an "active tag", switching characters in the middle of a combo to continue attacking.[3] Players can also perform a "counter tag", allowing them to escape a combo during an active tag if performed correctly.[3] The game includes a cinematic story mode, along with arcade and training modes.[4] The game will support local and online multiplayer with rollback netcode.[3]

Characters

[edit]

The game is set to feature 18 playable characters at launch, with four additional characters planned as downloadable content.[1]

Development and release

[edit]

Invincible VS is the first game developed by Quarter Up, a Los Angeles-based[10] studio founded by several members of the development team behind Killer Instinct (2013).[11] Quarter Up is the first in-house development studio under publisher Skybound Games.[4] Members of the animated series' voice cast reprise their roles for the game, including Steven Yeun as Invincible and J.K. Simmons as Omni-Man.[12] The developers created an original character for the game, Ella Mental (voiced by Tierra Whack), in collaboration with series creators Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker.[1]

The game was announced on June 8, 2025 during the Xbox Summer Showcase livestream.[13] It is currently scheduled to be released on April 30, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X and S.[14][1]
