Marvel Whiteside Parsons, later known as John Whiteside Parsons, was born on October 2, 1914, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles, California. This marks the beginning of the life of a pioneering rocket engineer, chemist, and occultist, who would later become a key figure in the development of both the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and the Aerojet Engineering Corporation.
