Biography
Early life and education
Junya Enoki was born on October 19, 1988, in Tokyo, Japan.[1] He is the cousin of voice actress Chika Anzai, whose career influenced his decision to pursue voice acting during his college years.[6] During his college years, Enoki began exploring anime under the encouragement of his friends, which sparked his initial interest in acting. He was particularly inspired to pursue voice acting after watching the anime series Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, whose dynamic storytelling and performances captivated him and prompted a career shift.[7] In his third year of college, Enoki enrolled in the Atomic Monkey Voice Actor & Acting Laboratory to receive formal training in voice acting. He graduated from the laboratory's third class and joined the affiliated agency upon completing his college education, marking the end of his formative training period.[7][8]Personal life
Junya Enoki stands at a height of 168 cm (5 ft 6 in). His blood type is A.[1][8] He is the cousin of voice actress Chika Anzai, sharing familial ties within the voice acting industry.[9] Outside of his professional pursuits, Enoki maintains a low-key lifestyle, enjoying peaceful physical activities such as walking and practicing kendo.[10] He has also shared a humorous personal quirk, openly expressing his dislike for mushrooms despite his surname "Enoki" deriving from the name of the enoki mushroom variety.[11]Career
Training and early career
Following his graduation from the Atomic Monkey Voice Actor and Acting Laboratory's third class, Junya Enoki affiliated with the agency's roster as a professional voice actor.[12] Enoki made his debut in the anime industry around 2010, initially taking on minor roles to build his presence.[13] His early work included small parts such as a reinforcement character in Sword Art Online (2012).[3] By 2014, he continued with brief appearances, voicing Taku Furuya in Parasyte -the maxim- and a boy participant (also listed as contestant and male student) in Your Lie in April.[3] These roles, though limited, allowed him to gain on-screen experience in ensemble casts. In 2015, Enoki secured his first notable supporting parts in Absolute Duo, where he voiced multiple student characters, including members of the divine squad, as well as a man and a rebel across several episodes.[3] During these initial years, Enoki faced typical rookie challenges in a competitive field, including sparse opportunities that required him to juggle part-time jobs while auditioning extensively to sustain his career.[6] To develop his skills, he actively participated in agency reading plays and stage activities, which helped refine his acting range beyond anime voicing.[13]Rise to prominence
Enoki's rise to prominence began in 2016 with his casting as Shu Kurenai in the long-running anime series Beyblade Burst, marking his first major lead role in a prominent franchise that spanned multiple seasons.[3] This portrayal of a skilled and introspective blader helped elevate his profile within the voice acting industry, as the series' enduring popularity provided sustained exposure.[13] Building on this foundation, Enoki demonstrated his versatility through notable supporting roles in diverse genres, including the intense action of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind (2018–2019), where he voiced the volatile Pannacotta Fugo. He further showcased his range in romantic narratives as Nasa Yuzaki, the intelligent and devoted protagonist of Fly Me to the Moon (2020–2023), and gained widespread recognition as the energetic Yuji Itadori in the supernatural action series Jujutsu Kaisen (2020–present). These performances highlighted his ability to convey both high-stakes emotional depth and lighter, heartfelt dynamics.[3] Enoki's visibility continued to grow with appearances in high-profile action-oriented series, such as voicing the loyal Seishu Inui in Tokyo Revengers, beginning with a debut appearance in 2021 and continuing in subsequent seasons. This was followed by his lead role as the determined firefighter Daigo Toake in Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange (2023). By 2023, his contributions earned fan recognition, placing third in Anime Corner's annual Seiyuu of the Year poll with 8.9% of votes.[3][14]Recent developments
In 2025, Enoki transitioned agencies, departing from Atomic Monkey after a long affiliation and joining the newly established Asleben on July 1. This move, announced officially by the agency, also included fellow voice actors Ruriko Aoki and Kotomi Aihara, marking a significant professional shift as Enoki continues to expand his career in voice acting and beyond.[15] Enoki ventured into live-action acting with his debut in the Hulu Japan original film I Still Want to Dream (2024), where he took on a major role as a key character in the story of aspiring musicians navigating personal and professional challenges. He followed this with a voice performance as the demon Vajila, one of the game's menacing overseers, in the live-action adaptation ACMA:Game The Movie: The Last Key (2024), blending his voice acting expertise with the film's supernatural elements. These roles represent Enoki's deliberate expansion into live-action media, reflecting his evolving career trajectory.[16][17] Enoki has maintained his prominent dubbing work, continuing to voice Tom Holland's Peter Parker/Spider-Man across Marvel Cinematic Universe projects, including entries up to 2025 releases such as promotional ties to upcoming Avengers films. In interviews around this period, such as those tied to his live-action debut and ongoing anime commitments, Enoki has discussed the challenges and growth in transitioning between voice and on-screen performances, emphasizing how these experiences enrich his approach to character portrayal. These developments highlight Enoki's broadening scope in the entertainment industry as of late 2025.[3]Filmography
