Leonard Linsky (November 13, 1922 – August 27, 2012)[1] was an American philosopher of language. He was an Emeritus Professor of the University of Chicago.

Philosophical work
[edit]Linsky was best known for work on the theory of reference, and also as a historian of early analytical philosophy.[2] He is often cited as an example of the "orthodox view" in the theory of reference.[3] He questioned the "intensional isomorphism" concept of Rudolf Carnap.[4]
