The MG One is a subcompact crossover SUV manufactured by MG Motor, the British automotive brand owned by the Chinese state-owned SAIC Motor, and unveiled globally on 30 July 2021 as the first model on the company's SIGMA Intelligent Global Architecture platform.[1][2] It is designed for urban drivers, featuring a bold exterior with LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, and alloy wheels ranging from 18 to 19 inches, while the interior includes a spacious cabin with premium materials, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and up to 1,120 litres of cargo space with seats folded.[2]
Powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-four petrol engine producing 133 kW (181 PS; 178 hp) and 285 Nm of torque, the MG One pairs this with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) to achieve 0-100 km/h acceleration in 8.8 seconds and a top speed of 195 km/h.[2][3] Safety features include up to six airbags, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and the MG Pilot suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), such as adaptive cruise control and 360-degree parking cameras.[2] The vehicle supports modern connectivity with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, voice controls, and a wireless charging pad, emphasizing its role as a tech-forward option in the competitive compact SUV segment.[2] Available in various trims like Standard, Comfort, and Luxury, the MG One is marketed in regions including the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, priced from approximately AED 85,500 (around $23,300 USD) for the base variant in the UAE as of 2025, with the top Luxury variant at AED 89,587.[4][5]
