List of songs recorded by Phish
List of songs recorded by Phish
from Wikipedia

This is an incomplete list of original songs composed by the rock band Phish. Certain "sections" of songs have been played separately from time to time, but are not listed below. For instance, the middle section of "Guelah Papyrus" was sometimes played by itself under the name "The Asse Festival.” Before "The Moma Dance" had lyrics, it was called "Black-Eyed Katy.” “Shafty" was once called "Olivia's Pool,” and featured a different arrangement. "Taste" was once known as "The Fog That Surrounds" and contained a slightly different arrangement. And many sections of the multi-part epic "Fluffhead" have been played outside of the song. Some of these sections include "Clod", "The Chase", "Who Do? We Do!!" and "Bundle of Joy.” Phish also performed several songs by The Dude of Life, a friend and collaborator of the band, but those are not listed here, with the exception of songs that The Dude of Life purposely gave to Phish for use in their catalog. Also, songs from the band's solo careers that were also performed by Phish are listed here.

The list of songs recorded by Phish documents the original compositions and notable cover versions captured by the American jam band Phish across their studio albums, live releases, and other official recordings since the band's inception in 1983. Phish, consisting of Trey Anastasio, Mike Gordon, Jon Fishman, and Page McConnell, has built an expansive musical catalog characterized by eclectic influences including rock, jazz, funk, bluegrass, and psychedelia, often extended through live improvisation. The band has issued 16 studio albums as of 2025, beginning with the demo cassette The White Tape in 1986 and culminating in Evolve in 2024, which collectively feature over 250 original tracks written primarily by Anastasio with contributions from other members. In addition to studio work, Phish maintains one of the most prolific live recording archives in rock music, with more than 100 official live albums and series like Live Phish (2002–2007) and Live Phish Downloads (2007–2012) preserving hundreds of performances that include unique song variants, jams, and covers drawn from a repertoire exceeding 1,000 songs when accounting for alternates and tributes. This catalog underscores Phish's commitment to musical exploration, with estimates placing their original song count at approximately 356, many of which debuted in live settings before studio refinement.

Original compositions

This is an incomplete list of original songs composed by Phish. Some song sections have been played separately (e.g., the middle of "Guelah Papyrus" as "The Asse Festival"). Songs such as "The Moma Dance" (formerly "Black-Eyed Katy") and "Taste" (formerly "The Fog That Surrounds") were known by different names or had different arrangements in early performances. Multi-part songs such as the sections of "Fluffhead" ("Clod", "The Chase", etc.) have occasionally been performed independently. The songs from the album The Dude of Life are excluded, except for those given to Phish. Songs from members' solo careers that Phish has performed are included.
