Miroslav Klose was born in Opole, Poland, as Mirosław Marian Klose. His father, Josef Klose, was a professional footballer, and his mother, Barbara Jeż, was a member of the Poland women's national handball team.
Move to West Germany
1986
At the age of eight, Klose moved to Kusel, West Germany, to join his father. He knew only two words of German at the time and would later develop his football skills with local club SG Blaubach-Diedelkopf.
