Klose played for 1. FC Kaiserslautern, scoring 44 goals in 120 appearances and establishing himself as a prolific scorer.

Klose joined Werder Bremen, where he scored 53 goals in 89 appearances and was named German Footballer of the Year in 2006.

Klose moved to Bayern Munich, winning two Bundesliga titles and a DFB-Pokal. He scored 24 goals in 98 appearances for the club.

Klose joined Lazio, where he won the 2012-13 Coppa Italia and scored 54 goals in 139 appearances before retiring in 2016.
