Narendra Modi was born in Vadnagar, a small town in North Gujarat’s Mehsana district, to Damodardas Modi and Hiraba Modi. He is the first Prime Minister to be born in independent India.

Modi joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a Hindu nationalist organization, which significantly influenced his worldview and ideology. He set up a unit of the RSS’s students’ wing, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, in his area.

Modi joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and quickly rose through the ranks. He became the general secretary of the Gujarat branch of the party in 1988.

The BJP won a majority in Gujarat, and Modi played a crucial role in the party's success. This marked the beginning of the BJP's control over the state government.

Modi served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, leading the state through significant economic growth and development. He won three consecutive state assembly elections in 2002, 2007, and 2012.

Modi was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India after leading the BJP to a clear majority in the Lok Sabha elections. He embarked on several reforms, including improving transportation infrastructure and liberalizing foreign investment rules.

The BJP-led NDA alliance won the majority again in the general election, paving the way for Modi to become the Prime Minister for a second consecutive term.
