College Football Career

McAfee attended West Virginia University, where he played as a placekicker for the West Virginia Mountaineers. During his senior year, he set several records, including becoming the school record holder for all-time scoring and achieving a career-best 44.7 yards per punt average.
NFL Draft
2009
McAfee was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL draft. He played in Super Bowl XLIV in his rookie year, where the Colts lost against the New Orleans Saints.
AFC Special Teams Player of the Month
2014
McAfee was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September 2014. He led the NFL in punting average (45.6 yards) and touchbacks on kickoff (24), and converted the NFL's only two successful onside kicks in the first four weeks of the season.
Retirement from NFL

After eight seasons, McAfee retired from the NFL, citing his recent knee operation and a fractured relationship with Colts' general manager Ryan Grigson as factors in his decision.
