Prince Rupert was buried in the Mary, Queen of Scots vault at Westminster Abbey in a state funeral.

Prince Rupert of the Rhine died at his house at Spring Gardens, Westminster, after a bout of pleurisy, at the age of 62. He was a significant figure in English and European history, known for his military leadership, scientific pursuits, and colonial governorship. He left most of his estate to his mistress, Margaret Hughes, and their daughter, Ruperta.
