Camilla was raised in East Sussex and South Kensington in England, where she developed a love for reading and animals. Her father frequently read to her, fostering her passion for literature.

Camilla attended Dumbrells, a co-educational school in Ditchling village, from the age of five. She later moved to Queen's Gate School near her London home, where she was known as 'Milla' and described as having 'inner strength' and 'magnetism and confidence'.

At the age of 16, Camilla attended the Mon Fertile finishing school in Tolochenaz, Switzerland, where she furthered her education and developed her language skills.

After completing her course in Switzerland, Camilla studied French and French literature at the University of London Institute in Paris for six months.
