Victoria's Diamond Jubilee procession took place, marking 60 years of her reign. The celebration included troops from all over the empire and a thanksgiving service outside St Paul's Cathedral.
The Prince of Wales recovered from typhoid fever, and mother and son attended a public parade through London and a grand service of thanksgiving in St Paul's Cathedral.
Victoria was christened privately by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Charles Manners-Sutton, in the Cupola Room at Kensington Palace. She was baptised Alexandrina after one of her godparents, Tsar Alexander I of Russia, and Victoria, after her mother.
Victoria was born at 4:15 a.m. on Monday 24 May 1819 at Kensington Palace in London. She was the daughter of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and Strathearn, and Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld.
