Roberta Lynn Heuer is born in La Verne, California, to John and Nova Heuer. Her early life was relatively ordinary, but it planted seeds for her imaginative storytelling later on.

As a child, Roberta displayed a keen interest in reading and storytelling. She enjoyed classic fairy tales, mysteries, and science fiction, all of which contributed to her later game designs.

Roberta attended high school, where she didn't necessarily stand out academically but continued to nurture her creative interests. This was a period of self-discovery and forming lifelong friendships.

After high school, Roberta worked various jobs, including as a medical assistant, before finding her calling in the emerging world of computer games. She began to show an aptitude in using and programming computers.
