Samia Abdel Rahim Maimani, a Saudi physician and neurosurgeon, was found dead in her apartment in the United States. The cause of death was determined to be suffocation. Her body was discovered inside a broken refrigerator on the street, and her apartment was found to be ransacked. A building guard was arrested based on crime scene fingerprints and sentenced to life imprisonment, although he maintained his innocence. This marked the tragic end of Maimani's life and career.
