The LTE model is paired with either a Samsung Exynos 850 (8 nm) (4x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 & 4x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55), or a MediaTek MT6769 Helio G80 (12 nm) (2x2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6x1.8 GHz Cortex-A55), and a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU.

5G model SM-A146B comes with an Exynos 1330 (5 nm) SOC, which includes an Octa-core (2x2.4 GHz Cortex-A78 & 6x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55) processor, and a Mali-G68 MP2 GPU. This is a big performance upgrade over its predecessor.

Both models come in configurations of 64 GB storage / 4 GB RAM, 128/4, and 128/6. The 5G model also comes with a 128/8 configuration.

Both phones come with expandable storage, LTE and 5G international models using a dedicated microSDXC card slot, and the 5G USA's microSDXC using a sharedSIM slot.

Both models include a triple camera rear setup, although include different cameras. They both come with the same 50 MP f/1.8 (wide-angle) main camera with phase detection autofocus (PDAF), and a 2 MP f/2.4 (macro) camera. The 4G model comes with a 5 MP f/2.2 Ultrawide.
