The Housemaid is an upcoming American psychological thriller film directed by Paul Feig and written by Rebecca Sonnenshine, based on the 2022 novel by Freida McFadden. It stars Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, Brandon Sklenar, and Michele Morrone.
The film is directed by Paul Feig and produced by Todd Lieberman for Hidden Pictures. Feig and Laura Fischer are also producing. The screenplay by Rebecca Sonnenshine is based on the 2022 novel by Freida McFadden. In October 2024, Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried were reported to be leading the cast and executive producing alongside McFadden and Alex Young.[1][2]
Principal photography began on January 3, 2025, in New Jersey, and was expected to wrap on February 14.[3][4] Filming officially wrapped in March 2025.[5]
The Housemaid is scheduled to be released in the United States on December 25, 2025.[6]
