Tim Schmidt (born 14 March 1986) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League.
Key Information
Originally from South Australian National Football League club West Adelaide, Schmidt was drafted by Sydney with pick number 29 at the 2003 AFL draft and made his debut on 29 July 2006 against Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium in Adelaide.
Schmidt suffered a succession of injuries while at Sydney and announced his retirement at the end of the 2009 AFL season.
In July 2016, Schmidt was appointed head coach of the Greater Western Sydney Giants women's team.[1] The team finished in last place in the inaugural season of AFL Women's in 2017, winning the wooden spoon. He stepped down from the role in July 2017.[2]
Schmidt has since started a kicking and skills academy called Kicking Dynamics, coaching future stars.

Tim Schmidt is an American entrepreneur known for founding the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) and serving as chairman and co-founder of Delta Defense, LLC, the company that operates the USCCA. [1] [2]
Originally trained as an engineer, Schmidt launched the USCCA in 2003 by starting Concealed Carry Magazine during his own self-defense awakening after becoming a father. [2] [3] Under his leadership, the organization has expanded significantly, becoming a major resource in the firearms community with a focus on training and legal support for concealed carry permit holders. As of recent reports, the USCCA has nearly 1 million members, and Delta Defense employs over 700 people. [3]
Delta Defense, headquartered in West Bend, Wisconsin, supports the USCCA's mission of empowering responsible citizens through education and protection services. [4] Schmidt has also authored content related to his experiences and the organization's growth, emphasizing personal responsibility and self-reliance in self-defense. [5]
