[edit]

Thomas Read Wilson was born in Berkshire on 12 November 1986.[1][2] He is the son, grandson and great-grandson of teachers who taught at Bradfield College, which he subsequently attended before studying at Pangbourne College.[1][3] Whilst studying at Rose Bruford College, one of his teachers, who also taught at the Royal Academy of Music, recommended their musical theatre course, which Read Wilson embarked on in 2010.[1][4]

[edit]

After his departure from the Royal Academy of Music in 2011, Read Wilson appeared in several pantomimes including Sleeping Beauty, Alice in Wonderland and The Cat in the Hat. He also appeared in concert with the Fingask Follies and portrayed Bill Yorke in the play Sweet Revenge.[1] In February 2016, Read Wilson auditioned for the fifth series of The Voice UK in which he sang "Accentuate The Positive" in the sixth blind auditions episode; however, he failed to receive a turn from the coaches.[5][6]

In March 2020, Read Wilson appeared on an episode of Celebrity Mastermind, answering questions on the film My Fair Lady, and playing for his chosen charity Albert Kennedy Trust, subsequently winning the episode after answering all of his specialist subject questions correctly.[3][13] In 2021, Read Wilson was a contestant on Celebrity Best Home Cook. He reached the final and finished as the runner-up.[14][15][16] In 2022, he appeared on an episode of Mary Berry's Fantastic Feasts, Tipping Point: Lucky Stars, The Wheel and the book club chat show Between the Covers.[17][18][19]
