Villeblevin (French pronunciation: [vil.bləvɛ̃]) is a commune in the Yonne department in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in north-central France.

Key Information

The town achieved prominence in 1960 when it was the site of the car crash that killed Albert Camus. A monument to Albert Camus is located at 48°19'28.0" north, 3°04'56.4" east. The site where Michel Gallimard's Facel-Vega crashed against a plane tree killing Camus instantly was on the Nationale 6 (now Départmentale 606) at the height of Petit-Villeblevin. [1]
